Amusing technology

Technology is great!! I am typing the brief blog from my WordPress app on my iPhone!! I am moving up like George and Weezy. So really, I have no excuses for not busting out at least one blog a week.

Anyhoooo… I came across this pic on pinterest.com and had to blog about it. When I was a kid, McDonalds was a treat or when my mom didn’t cook.. Which was rare. Back then the sign on
McDonalds said “1 million sold.” now I think it says “1 billion sold”. I will admit, I was part of that 1 billion. I loved the fries. When I was transitioning to vegetarianism, I could have sworn I heard a commercial say “Now serving REAL chicken tenders.” like what the hell were you serving before? Makes you wonder. I hear all the time people talk about the vegetarian protein that I eat but when I compare that to the FAKE meat from McDonalds, some how the conversation ends quickly.

There’s much to be learned from a plant based diet.

Raw Food Movement

It’s been awhile since I last posted to my blog. A lot is going on in the life of La Treviette and has taken NUBODI to a WHOLE new level. But I’m back now and ready to take it TO that level.

In 1999 I gave up pork. I don’t know why, I just did. I loved bacon, pork chops (they were my specialty) and ham sammiches!! Back in 2003 I worked for an organization where almost all of the employees were vegan or vegetarian. Being the of the only meat eaters there, I felt kind of weird. Like they were going to throw me off the island. I only worked there a year (not because of the meat eating thing) however, I couldn’t help but have some of their ways rub off on me. That following year, I gave up beef. In 2006 I met a few other vegetarians and vegans. The more I talked with them the more that life style made sense.

At that stage in my life, I was ONLY talking about vegetarianism not necessarily that I was going there. On this journey we call life, we are taken places we have never expected… if we allow it to. Never in all my years on this planet did I think I would become a vegetarian let alone a raw foodist but life happens. In 2009 or 10, I came across this raw food chef certification (as if I NEED another certification) and I thought WOW… I need that!! LOL I said, this can catapult me into my raw food movement and most certainly add to my holistic health business. There was ONE problem… well TWO. One it was in Michigan and two it was $2000 for a two week stay. Well that wasn’t going to happen. So I placed the information on my MANIFESTATION Board and poof… two years later I am meeting people who are raw food chefs and one happens to be a friend of mine. He introduced me to the people at the restaurant where he is a chef and I was in love. Raw foods is not about eating a bunch of carrots. Well there are raw carrots involved but its not like you think. Raw foods involve cooking foods at low to no heat. Cooking food at very high temperatures and for extreme amounts of time, cooks out all of the nutrients from the foods. Since I was introducing people to juicing and making smoothies anyway, this was/IS up my alley. I am still young in my raw food journey so I will keep you posted as I move along.
